Hackensack University Medical Center is pleased to announce it is one of only five major academic medical centers in the nation to receive Healthgrades America’s 50 Best Hospitals Award for five or more years in a row.
“We are tremendously proud to provide consumers access to some of the highest quality of care in the nation,” said Robert C. Garrett, president and chief executive officer, Hackensack University Health Network. “We remain focused on providing clinical quality and excellence. Patients and healthcare consumers are more involved and informed in their care than ever, and transparency to performance is a key piece of information that guides them to the most appropriate provider with the best clinical outcomes.”
The efforts that drive performance include working on new and innovative ways to provide clinical care. Recently HackensackUMC, completed participation in clinical trials for a new endovascular thoracic stent graft, a technique which has the lowest-profile and minimally invasive endovascular stent graft.
HackensackUMC will continue to foster improvements in clinical performance and other system innovations with the addition of Carol Barsky, M.D., chief quality officer and vice president to the team. Dr. Barsky brings her significant experience and track record of transforming care to Hackensack, with a focus on expanding HackensackUMC services and community programs.
“Healthgrades has witnessed the leadership and innovation emblematic of HackensackUMC and applauds their unwavering efforts to drive continuous improvement,” said Evan Marks, chief strategy officer, Healthgrades. “Hospitals that have achieved Healthgrades distinctions year after year, demonstrate a long-term commitment to the delivery of exceptional quality of care.”
