(HealthNewsDigest.com) – HACKENSACK, N.J., Feb. 23, 2016 — As part of its continuing effort to be at the forefront of technology in the healthcare space, Hackensack University Medical Center has unveiled HackensackUMC Mobile Access. The new smart phone app allows patients within the HackensackUMC community to access their medical data, search for and connect with Hackensackphysicians, and even see up-to-date wait times in the emergency room.
“Our goal with the new mobile app was to create seamless connectivity between patients and physicians to elevate the level of care we provide our community,” says Shafiq Rab, M.D., vice president and chief information officer, who is spearheading the initiative with Sarah Timmapuri, M.D., and the Hackensack Health Information Technology team. “The HackensackUMC Mobile Access app is a valuable, new tool to help patients easily access the information they need, and to feel empowered to take ownership of their healthcare.”
