HACKENSACK – For many of the children at Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at HackensackUMC, a trip to the circus is not an option.
However, on March 9, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus performers and clowns visited the patients to help lift their spirits and help them forget about their illness.
During the visit, patients and their parents watched a performance from a clown from the circus’ “Clown Alley,” dancers from Brazil and two acrobats from Mongolia.
The circus came to the hospital as part of the Tackle Kids Cancer initiative for pediatric cancer research.
HackensackUMC was one of 50 hospitals to receive a $10,000 donation from the Ringling Bros. Children’s Fund, which supports children’s charities.
