Road Warrior: Ringwood brain-injury survivor thanks his rescuers

Police and rescue workers were certain that the man lying crumpled on the road would not survive.

“There was so much blood,” most of it coming from the victim’s head, recalled Lt. Tanya Balser, one of the first Teaneck cops on the scene when Dan Mollino, a cable-television installer, fell 20 feet off a ladder onto the hard pavement in front of 798 Washburn St.

It happened long ago, but police don’t easily forget these grisly images. Since December in Teaneck alone, two pedestrians were run down on Cedar Lane and a building manager fell seven floors from the roof of the Glenpointe hotel complex. None survived.
