The John Theurer Cancer Center at HackensackUMC, a member of Hackensack Meridian Health, is the recipient of a $15,000 donation in the name of Jersey City’s very own New Jersey Grabowskis. The team conducts fundraisers in support of Receptions for Research: The Greg Olsen Foundation, an organization devoted to providing hospitals, doctors and scholars across the nation with the resources necessary to treat and enrich the lives of those affected by various forms of cancer and cardiovascular disease. This was the second donation by the team, who also presented the John Theurer Cancer Center with a check for $10,000 in 2015. Since 2010, the team has raised more than $98,000 for the Greg Olsen Foundation.
“On behalf of my team and our partners at Receptions For Research: The Greg Olsen Foundation, I want to express how deeply proud we are of the work we perform locally in New Jersey, and just how wonderful it is to see it now benefitting an extraordinary facility such as the John Theurer Cancer Center at HackensackUMC,” said Joe Moscone, captain of the New Jersey Grabowskis. “The work that the John Theurer Cancer Center and Receptions For Research perform is an incredible inspiration to each and every one of the Grabowskis. Together we are making a difference.”
Receptions for Research’s founder, Greg Olsen, an NFL player and Wayne, NJ native, worked with the New Jersey Grabowskis in selecting the John Theurer Cancer Center as the recipient of the donation. The Greg Olsen Foundation has pledged to make an annual donation to the John Theurer Cancer Center on behalf of the New Jersey Grabowskis.
“We truly appreciate and rely on the generosity of individuals and groups like the NJ Grabowskis who raise money for our important work in all areas of cancer research,” said Nancy Karole Kennedy, director, Major Gifts, HackensackUMC Foundation. “The cutting-edge research underway at the John Theurer Cancer Center is providing life-changing results for our patients – helping them to live longer and more active lives and creating better outcomes.”
Established in 1980 as a 501(c) (3) charitable organization, the HackensackUMC Foundation raises funds that support the diverse programs and services which benefit patients at the medical center.
