Technology blends comfort-centered MRI exams with advanced imaging capabilities

Neptune, NJ – Jersey Shore University Medical Center, part of the Hackensack Meridian Health family, has just added the Discovery* MR750w 3.0T MRI system as part of a multimillion dollar investment that created a new 4,100 square foot MRI suite within the medical center. This new system is designed to help maximize comfort for patients, while delivering uncompromised imaging capability for physicians.

The new suite features a dedicated outpatient reception area, four bays for inpatient waiting, separate male/female changing areas, interview room, induction/resuscitation room, nursing station, and the new 3.0T MRI. This leading-edge MRI system combines a 70 cm patient bore with a 3.0T magnet strength, offering a faster scan at higher resolution, and can accommodate patients up to 500 lbs. This technology is used for general and specialized exams, including neurology, urology, oncology, cardiology and orthopedic.

Other key features of the 3.0T MRI include:
•    A wide-bore architecture to add space around the patient
•    A re-designed table surface with different cushion densities to alleviate pressure points
•    A coil array that offers feet-first imaging for all exam types
•    Uncompromised imaging capability for the most advanced and demanding exams
•    Built-in music to help patients feel at ease.

The MRI suite is located on the first floor of the Ackerman building at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. To schedule an appointment, call 732-776-4698. For pediatric and adult sedation MRI or cardiac MRI, call 732-776-2490 (option 2).
