The Deirdre Imus Environmental Health Center® at Hackensack University Medical Center celebrated Earth Day in a fashionable way. Bella the Bride was the focal point of the Earth Day Celebration in the main lobby of the medical center. Bella the Bride, which was created by Beacon Converters, and loaned to the medical center for the day, represents the beauty found through sustainable practices. The dress is made entirely out of medical packaging waste. Bella is part of the Recycle Runway Collection, a traveling exhibit showcasing sustainable fashions made from trash. According to Kyle Tafuri, director of Sustainability for Hackensack Meridian Health, Bella exemplifies the importance of recycling. (Note: This event was also featured on News 12 New Jersey.)
