Robert is one of eight new board members representing a variety of industries and organizations
Hackensack Meridian Health co-CEO Robert C. Garrett, FACHE, was elected to serve on the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors earlier this month. Garrett is one of eight new board members selected to represent a variety of industries and organizations in the Garden State.
“It is an honor to represent Hackensack Meridian Health and New Jersey’s health care industry on the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors,” said Garrett. “Health care is not only integral to people’s lives – it is a critical sector of New Jersey’s economy. The health care landscape is constantly evolving, and we must be prepared to adapt and grow as an industry to continue to successfully meet the needs of the communities we serve. I look forward to working with the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce to ensure the voice of the health care industry is well-represented as we look for innovative ways to grow our economy.”
Robert Garrett is a nationally recognized leader in the health care industry. He started as a resident at Hackensack University Medical Center in 1981, eventually working his way up to president and CEO of Hackensack University Health Network from 2009 to 2016. His industry expertise has consistently earned him the top spots in prominent business publications and organizations. He was ranked first on NJBIZ‘s 2017 “Power 50 Health Care” list and ranked on the NJBIZ “Power 100: The Most Powerful People in New Jersey Business” list for six consecutive years. In addition, he was selected to serve on the Wall Street Journal CEO Council, which represents the most well-respected business leaders in the United States.
“Health care is the backbone of New Jersey’s economy, and technology, innovation and education are constantly improving the way we serve our communities,” said John K. Lloyd, FACHE, co-CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health. “In this transformational time for health care, it is so important that New Jersey’s business climate is supportive and flexible to the challenges the health care industry faces. As the leader of the most comprehensive, integrated health care network in New Jersey and an industry expert who is always pushing the way we deliver care forward, Robert Garrett is an excellent choice to represent the health care industry on the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.”
“We welcome these respected leaders to the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors,” said Tom Bracken, president and CEO of the New Jersey Chamber. “Each of them brings a wealth of business experience that will strengthen our Board and help us achieve our goal of growing New Jersey’s economy and making the state more affordable for everyone. We are excited to have Robert as a member of our Board of Directors. His vast knowledge of the health care industry will give the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce additional valuable insight into this important sector of our economy.”
