Becker’s Hospital Review recognizes Hackensack Meridian Health as one of the country’s top accountable care organizations for the second year in a row.
Becker’s Healthcare has named Hackensack Meridian Health‘s high-performing portfolio of accountable care organizations (ACO) to its 2017 list of 110 ACOs to Know. This is the second year in a row that Hackensack Meridian Health‘s Medicare ACOs and clinically integrated network have been listed among of the country’s top performing ACOs. The 110 ACOs were selected based on their quality and cost performance, innovative nature of their commercial agreements as well as the advanced tracks of the Medicare Shared Savings Program.
Hackensack Meridian Health, one of New Jersey’s leading health care organizations, boasts two Medicare Shared Savings Program ACOs, HackensackAlliance ACO and Meridian ACO, as well as Hackensack Meridian Health Partners, its clinically integrated network. All three organizations have experienced major success this past year and combined oversee the health of hundreds of thousands of patients.
“Hackensack Meridian Health is dedicated to population health and providing our patients with coordinated, quality care through our ACOs,” said Patrick Young, president of Population Health for Hackensack Meridian Health. “Being named to such a prestigious list for the second straight year is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our physicians and health care providers.”
HackensackAlliance ACO experienced its most successful year ever in performance year 2015, generating savings for the third year in a row and ranking seventh in the nation for total savings. Both HackensackAlliance ACO and Meridian ACO improved their quality scores in 2015, each earning a score of more than 92 percent.
Meanwhile, Hackensack Meridian Health Partners more than doubled in size over the past 12 months and now covers more than seven counties in New Jersey with its nearly 3,000 physician members.
