Robert C. Garrett and John K. Lloyd, co-CEO’s honored for outstanding leadership and innovation
Hackensack Meridian Health is proud to announce that its co-CEO’s John K. Lloyd and Robert C. Garrett were honored with the Best Practices Award from the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey and will be featured in the organization’s signature publication, Commerce Magazine.
More than 100 submissions were received by the magazine and a panel of experts chose the winners, including Mr. Garrett and Mr. Lloyd, who lead a 13-hospital network in New Jersey, the state’s most comprehensive and integrated.
Mr. Lloyd and Mr. Garrett were honored for several successful initiatives: launching the Agile Strategies Lab with the New Jersey Institute for Innovation, an incubator for products and ideas to improve the delivery of health care; plans to open New Jersey’s first private medical school next year with Seton Hall University; and the network’s commitment to the continuum of care which has resulted in high quality care and proven cost saving. The network also launched a historic partnership with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to expand treatment throughout the state.

The focus for this year was winning strategies used by businesses and institutions of higher education to distinguish themselves in the marketplace. The event, the Fourth Annual Best Practice Conference, drew more than 150 business leaders at Nanina’s in the Park in Belleville. The conference served as an opportunity for business executives to come together and discuss best practices – standards, philosophies, or concepts which they have implemented to help this companies grow and succeed.
