Morey Menacker, D.O.
Vice President, Specialty Care and Care Transitions Hackensack Meridian Health
Morey J. Menacker, D.O. is vice president of specialty care and care transition for Hackensack Meridian Health, a $5.5 billion leading not-for-profit health care organization that is the most comprehensive and truly integrated health care network in New Jersey. The network encompasses 16 hospitals, including three academic medical centers, two children’s hospitals, nine community hospitals, two rehabilitation hospitals and more than 450 patient care sites and physician offices.
As vice president, Dr. Menacker oversees Hackensack Meridian Health Partners, the network’s clinically integrated network, which is dedicated to improving health outcomes, reducing health care costs and enhancing the patient experience in the community. He is responsible for physician recruitment and satisfaction as well as ensuring Hackensack Meridian Health Partners meets or exceeds its standards for clinical quality and safety.
Dr. Menacker has helped lead Hackensack Meridian Health’s population health strategy since joining the organization in 1988, serving as vice-chair of the Department of Medicine for Hackensack University Medical Center for several years. He was interim Chair of Medicine at HUMC from 2015 to 2016. He has served as the president and CEO of HackensackAlliance ACO, Hackensack University Medical Center’s Medicare shared shavings program accountable care organization, since its inception in 2012. Under his leadership, HackensackAlliance ACO has regularly been recognized as one of the top Medicare ACOs in the country. In its 2016 performance year, HackensackAlliance ACO ranked third in the nation for total savings, saving more than $50 million while earning a 92.26% overall Quality Score.
While helping oversee specialty care and population health initiatives for Hackensack Meridian Health, Dr. Menacker also practices internal medicine in Paramus at Forest Healthcare Associates.
Dr. Menacker is also an accomplished author with several published articles in respected journals such as American Journal of Accountable Care and Health Management.
Dr. Menacker has always had a passion for population health. Prior to joining Hackensack Meridian Health, he practiced internal medicine at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey where he later served as its Chief Medical Resident. He then went on to serve two years in the United States Public Health Service where he helped care for migrant farm workers before serving as the Director of Internal Medicine Residency Program, and Vice President of Medical Affairs, at Bergen Pines County Hospital in Paramus, New Jersey.
Dr. Menacker has also served in a variety of corporate roles including Medical Director of Woodcliff Lake Nursing Home, Medical Director of International Health Initiatives, and on Qualcare, Inc.’s Board of Directors.
Dr. Menacker received his B.A in biology from LaSalle College in Philadelphia and his doctorate in osteopathic medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
