Patient Experience Rates at Hackensack University Medical Center

The HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) Survey, also known as the CAHPS® Hospital Survey or Hospital CAHPS®, is a standardized survey that asks discharged patients 27 questions about their recent hospital stay. Below are five topics with how patients rated Hackensack University Medical Center a 10 out of a 10-point scale (always), compared to state and national.

Responsiveness of Hospital Staff
This measure addresses the responsiveness of our team once a call bell has been pressed, and how often our patients received help in getting to the bathroom or in using a bedpan as soon as they needed to. The percentages below indicate patients who reported they "Always" received help as soon as they wanted.
Cleanliness/Quietness of Hospital Environment
This measure addresses how often a patient room and bathroom were cleaned, as well as how often the area around the room was kept quiet at night. The percentages below indicate patients who reported that their room and bathroom were "Always" clean.
Willingness to Recommend Hospital
This measure addresses whether or not a patient would recommend their hospital to a friend or family member. The percentages below indicate patients who reported YES, they would definitely recommend the hospital.
