Our complementary services and amenities include everything from arranging for hotel reservations to providing a cup of coffee.

Does your friend or family need personal items while in the hospital? No time to catch dinner prior to visiting a loved one? Our concierge is at your service to order these items for you. Your only cost is the expense incurred for the items purchased. We can arrange for comfort items, special coffee requests, snacks, and restaurant meal delivery.

Hospital Concierge

At Jersey Shore University Medical Center, we are committed to delivering the best health care experience. We understand your experience goes beyond the exceptional clinical care. That’s why we offer Concierge Care.

Concierge Care is a complimentary service, available to all patients and guests of the Medical Center, designed to address non-clinical needs. From transportation and information requests, to room service, our Guest Relations Team is here to help!

Concierge Care is available seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m., with an answering service for after-hours requests. To take advantage of Concierge Care please call 732-775-5500 x1111 or visit the Concierge Desk in the Kurr Atrium.

Gift Shop

The gift shop, near the main entrance of the Northwest Pavilion, offers an assortment of merchandise selected to meet the diverse needs of the community.

Booker Health Sciences Library

The library is open to all patients and their family members to assist you in learning more about specific health conditions, treatment options, and research.

Spa Offerings

A massage or manicure may be the perfect gift. Our Spa Offerings menu includes detailed information on services offered, availability and pricing.


The Young Chapel, located in the Booker Pavilion across from the Library, also serves as a meditation room. It is open 24/7 to patients, visitors and hospital staff.

Pastoral Care


The pharmacy is available to patients to fill any necessary prescriptions before they even leave the hospital’s doors.

Mail, Packages, and Flowers

Any deliveries will be brought directly to your room. Mail received after discharge will be forwarded to your home. Please give any outgoing mail to your nurse.

For your convenience, a telephone is provided in each room as a complimentary amenity. The telephone will allow you to receive incoming telephone calls from outside the Medical Center and to dial anywhere within the state of New Jersey without charge.

Cellular Phones

While cell phone use is permitted at Jersey Shore, we ask that usage be limited to lobby areas, the cafeteria, and outside the Medical Center. Please refrain from using cell phones in patient rooms, waiting areas, elevators, or other areas that might disrupt other patients.


A remote-controlled television is provided in each room free of charge. We also offer “Visitor’s Vision,” a service that allows patients with visiting restrictions to speak with friends and family through a closed-circuit television system. Please speak to your nurse to make arrangements.

Patients televisions can be adapted to allow closed-captioned viewing upon request. For assistance or to report any problems, please contact Guest Relations.

WiFi / Internet Access

WiFi is available throughout the Medical Center, and guests are able to access this service via a personal computer. Please note this is a public wireless access system and should not be used to transmit or access secure information. In addition, you will find certain Web sites are blocked by the Medical Center for policy reasons.

Patient Food Service

While meal service times can vary from unit to unit, the general hours of meal service are:

Breakfast: 7:20 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Lunch: 11:20 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Dinner: 4:20 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Our Food and Nutrition Services team members play an important role in your recovery and continued good health by making sure the nutritional requirements from your physician are being met.

At Jersey Shore, we have a specially designed menu to meet your needs. Before each meal, a catering associate will come to your room to take your order.

If you are on a special diet, food will be prepared based on your doctor’s orders. The nutritionist will explain any restrictions to you. Kosher meals are available if you require it for dietary or religious reasons. Guest trays may be ordered by notifying your nurse.

Please do not accept food from home unless you have checked with your physician or the Food and Nutrition Services team.

On-Campus Dining

Jersey Shore Grille & Deli

Located in Brennan Pavilion, the Grille offers hot and cold sandwiches, desserts, and a variety of deli and breakfast items.

Monday – Friday: 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Saturday/Sunday: 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Holidays: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Atrium Cafe

Located in the Atrium of the Northwest Pavilion lobby.

Open seven days a week: 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Restaurant Meal Delivery

Concierge Care has made arrangements with local restaurants to deliver meals for patients and their guests. The menus have been customized to include important nutritional information. All food requests will be discussed with our clinical care team to comply with the patient’s dietary and health restrictions.


Dedicated to accommodating the special needs of all of our patients.

Our staff members will do their best to assist your family in whatever physical or language barriers you may face in order to fully participate in the patient’s care. Please discuss any special needs you or child may have with your nurse.

Some of the ways we can meet special needs include the following:

Telecommunications devices for the deaf (TDD/TYY) are available to facilitate communications. Flashing, visual ringing devices and amplifiers are available for your telephone. In addition, easy-to-read, large-numbered phones are obtainable upon request.

Televisions can be adapted for closed-captioned viewing with the simple installation of a decoder box.

Special hands-free touch pads / call devices are available to aid in communicating your needs with the nurse if you are unable to use an intercom system. Communications posters are available on all units to assist in identifying care needs.

Translators for a variety of languages are available within the Medical Center. You can access the list of available staff or the AT&T Language Line by contacting your nurse for information.

Alarms that give off flashing lights to alert the hearing impaired of a fire are available in certain areas of the Medical Center. For the visually impaired and hearing impaired, the Medical Center also provides a vibrating alarm.

To help you pass the hours, the Medical Center maintains large-print books for the visually impaired. Contact Volunteer Services for more information.

Signs indicating room numbers, elevators, bathrooms, and exits are raised and written in Braille. Additionally, there is an ATM machine on the ground floor with raised numbers.

All entrances are equipped with electronic doors and wheelchair access ramps. Public bathrooms, elevators, and water fountains are also wheelchair accessible.

Handicapped parking is available near all entrances to the Medical Center. Van-accessible entrances are located on the east side of the hospital and near the main entrance. Disabled individuals may also use our valet parking service, when available, free of charge.

Shop online from the comfort of your home with our gift shop website. FREE same-day delivery is available for select items if purchased before 1 pm from Monday-Friday. No additional charge or minimum purchase is required for hospital deliveries. For your convenience, American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa are accepted.

Phone Orders Are Welcome

Long distance well-wishers and patients unable to leave their rooms are encouraged to use the Gift Shop’s delivery service, available 7 days a week. By dialing 732-776-4215, you can arrange to have a purchase delivered directly to the patient’s room – with no delivery charge. A friendly gift shop team member will take your order over the phone and your purchase will be delivered that same day.

Custom Gift Baskets Made to Order

Our gift shop team members are happy to prepare a gift basket designed to your exact specifications. Choose the specific merchandise you want, provide an overall theme, or specify an amount you wish to spend – the gift shop will take it from there! They will assemble and deliver a custom gift basket sure to make any patient feel special.

Delights for New Mothers

Door hangers featuring teddy bears and other newborn gifts are some of the gift shop’s top sellers. These items can also be customized with the infant’s name. Proud parents also appreciate our tremendous assortment of baby layette items and hospital logo merchandise. And what new mother wouldn’t enjoy being pampered with a gift of a soothing lotion, candle, aromatherapy, or other spa-like specialty item?


The Gift Shop offers a frequent shoppers reward program for its regular customers and also runs monthly sales promotions; be sure to ask what special is being promoted during the month.
