Hackensack Meridian Health Wins PeopleSoft Innovator Award Twice for 2018

November 06, 2018

Hackensack Meridian Health, New Jersey’s largest, most comprehensive and integrated health network, is pleased to announce it has twice won the PeopleSoft Innovator Award from Oracle, a leading global computer technology corporation.

Oracle presented Hackensack Meridian Health with the PeopleSoft Innovator Award for its innovative deployment of Oracle’s Fluid HCM Employee and Manager Self Service and Elasticsearch module at the 2018 Oracle Open World conference in San Francisco last month.

Hackensack Meridian Health implemented both features of the PeopleSoft product using Duo, a two factor authentication tool, to permit secure access to PeopleSoft for Hackensack Meridian Health team members. The solution was implemented through a partnership with Sierra Cedar, SpearMC Consulting, Appsian and Duo.

In April, Oracle also granted a PeopleSoft Innovator Award to Hackensack Meridian Health for the network’s outstanding work leveraging PeopleSoft Test Framework via an automated testing solution it developed with SpearMC Consulting.

“I want to congratulate our Hackensack Meridian Health Information Technology team for achieving these distinctions,” said Robert. C. Garrett, FACHE, co-CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health.  “Through the leadership of David Reis, PhD, and our entire team, we have successfully leveraged the latest capabilities and technologies to transform our health care network and our information technology practices.”

“We are delighted to receive recognition from Oracle, especially twice in one year, for our work in successfully employing advanced PeopleSoft functionality,’’ said Dr. David Reis, executive vice president, chief information officer of Hackensack Meridian Health. “These awards recognize our continuing work to integrate and strengthen our core technology ensuring seamless transitions for departments across the network and were made possible because of the motivated and collaborative culture that is hardwired within the respective teams.”

“As we continue to integrate along consistent platforms and enhance those platforms, we increase ease of use, efficiencies and, ultimately, improve quality and the patient experience,” Dr. David Reis noted.

The PeopleSoft Innovators program was launched in August 2017. PeopleSoft Innovators showcase what is possible with today’s PeopleSoft—driving measurable results in areas such as reduced operating costs, more rapid response to changing business demands and providing users with an intuitive and productive user interface.

“We are committed to providing high-quality care and exceptional patient experiences, ensuring we deliver the right care, to the right people, at the right time,” said Reis. “Information Technology is critical to our ability to successfully deliver care, and we applaud our team members for their outstanding collaborative efforts to put us on the forefront of this work.”
