Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation Welcomes Two New Trustees

Manahawkin, NJ - Hackensack Meridian Health Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of Jeremy DeFilippis and Joseph Rulli to the Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation Board of Trustees.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Jeremy and Joseph to the Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation,” says Joseph Stampe, south regional president and foundation chief development officer of Hackensack Meridian Health. “Both of these individuals are well known within the community and will be tremendous assets as we work to build upon the extraordinary offerings already in place at this medical center. Community support is crucial to being able to provide enhancements, and we are thrilled to welcome these two outstanding members to our enthusiastic board.”
A graduate of the University of Delaware, DeFilippis is now the CEO of lifestyle apparel brand, Jetty, which he co-founded in 2003. He is also the treasurer of the Jetty Rock Foundation – the non-profit arm of Jetty – which was born out of need following Super Storm Sandy, and which aims to enhance business, arts, the environment and culture for future community business leaders. He is also an active member of the Southern Ocean Chamber of Commerce. DeFilippis lives in Beach Haven Crest with his wife Crystal and their two dogs.
Originally from northern New Jersey, Rulli moved to the area when he was eight years old and is now the owner of Joey’s Pizza & Pasta, with three locations in Manahawkin, Ship Bottom and Beach Haven Crest. He is a former board member of the Stafford Little League, as well as the treasurer and vice president of fundraising for the organization. He lives in Stafford Township with his wife, Lori, and their two children. Rulli is a graduate of the Philadelphia School of Advertising.

In recent years, Southern Ocean Medical Center has seen tremendous growth and support from its community. More than $1 million was raised in 2017 by the foundation in support of a variety of medical center initiatives, including lobby renovations, a new Cancer Care Center, an oncology survivorship program, nursing scholarships and renovations to the surgical unit.
