Hackensack Meridian Health Team Members Raise Funds to Support Giving Heals Campaign

Team members from eight Hackensack Meridian Health medical centers raised more than $300,000 for Meridian Health Foundation’s comprehensive fundraising campaign, Giving Heals. Giving Heals supports four important initiatives – strengthening oncology services, improving clinical outcomes, enhancing the patient experience and broadening clinical research and academic programs. More than $90 million has been raised toward a goal of $150 million to support Hackensack Meridian Health medical centers in Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex counties.

The team members gave through Meridian Health Foundation’s annual Team Member Fundraising campaign, which reaches the following Hackensack Meridian Health medical centers: Jersey Shore University Medical Center, K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital, Bayshore Medical Center, Ocean Medical Center, Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge, Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, Riverview Medical Center and Southern Ocean Medical Center.

“The fact that team members believe in what we’re doing so much that they personally chose to give to the Giving Heals campaign is just incredible” says Joseph Stampe, president and chief development officer, Meridian Health Foundation. “Their donations will help to enhance health care for our communities and I could not be more excited and proud of their enthusiasm for giving. Not only does giving help to make the patient experience better, but it makes us feel good too. It’s truly a win win!”

Since the Team Member Annual Fundraising campaign began in 2015, team members have raised nearly $1.4 million in support of hospital programs and initiatives. In fact, individual donors have comprised the majority of funds raised to date with nearly 300 individuals making gifts of $25,000 or more and 16,700 individuals making gifts under $25,000.

“A donation in any amount is significant and impactful,” says Stampe. “Most individual gifts actually come from grateful patients who donate as thanks for the great care they received, in honor of a physician or nurse, or because they know that a particular unit or hospital could use something specific that will help other patients. No matter the reason they choose to give, we are grateful for their support.”
