Team Member Resource Groups

At Hackensack Meridian Health, we recognize that each team member has a different background, perspective, talent, and experience that contributes to our organization’s success
— and we believe that together, we can achieve great things. Our company-sponsored, voluntary Team Member Resource Groups (TMRGs) are a critical part of our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategic initiative to foster inclusion and belonging. These
groups are initiated by our team members in collaboration with our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion office to:
  • Increase cultural competence and awareness
  • Create an open forum to share innovative ideas
  • Promote professional development
  • Provide networking and mentoring opportunities
  • Increase retention and enhance engagement
  • Support our organizational goals


We promote diversity at every level within our organization and believe that recruiting and nurturing the very best talent from all groups within the communities in which we live enables us to better serve our guests and their families. Our TMRGs include:

  • Abilities TMRG: The relentless pursuit of an inclusive environment where all team members can thrive, grow and give back to Hackensack Meridian Health’s success without limitation or boundary.
  • Aspiring Women Leaders: To empower and educate aspiring women team members to achieve their personal and professional goals of becoming Hackensack Meridian Health leaders
  • Black TMRG: The Black TMRG is a source of positive change by being a vehicle for encouragement, engagement and empowerment through its focus on Representation, Retention and Realization.
  • Hispanic/LatinX TMRG: Creates a community dedicated to the development of Latinos through Networking, Education, Mentoring and Community Outreach while embracing our cultural passion. The Hispanic and LatinX team member resource group is committed to developing spaces where people can bring their best selves to work every day and remain authentic to who they are.
  • Multicultural Resource Group: Creates an intercultural dialogue that will provide diverse perspectives and practices to increase cross-cultural understanding and competency; fosters equality and inclusion for all team members.
  • Pride and Allies at Hackensack Meridian Health: Promotes awareness and education about the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Ally+ (LGBTQIA+) community. Creates an inclusive and equitable environment for all team members, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.
  • Veterans TMRG: Provides support and resources for our veterans and active military team members of all branches of the United States Armed Forces and their families. Aligns with Hackensack Meridian Health’s strategy to attract, retain and recognize our military team members and commit to being a military-friendly company.
  • Women in Leadership (WIL): The purpose of WIL is to strengthen women in all disciplines throughout the network and to influence the culture at Hackensack Meridian Health, one which will foster the education, equality, and empowerment of women.
  • Young Professionals TMRG: Provides a forum for young professionals to network, exchange ideas, and enhance professional development. Helps influence policy to improve engagement, retention, and provides a cross-generation mindset to increase the organization’s overall performance and growth.
