October 13, 2017

More than 1,200 people expected at event offering health and well-being tips, inspiring life lessons from Bobbi Brown, local physicians and two dozen vendors.

Hackensack Meridian Health is proud to present the 2nd Annual Women ROCK event Oct. 21 at the Asbury Park Convention Hall to help women of all ages enjoy a day dedicated to well-being, fun, friendship and inspiring ways to live.

A major highlight includes a Q & A with Bobbi Brown – the best-selling author, entrepreneur and creator of Beauty Evolution – her new lifestyle platform that celebrates confidence and wellness.

The free event from noon to 5 p.m. also features inspirational talks by local “womenologists” and several Hackensack Meridian Health experts. Two dozen food, health and wellness vendors will offer tips and treats at the program that focuses on Integrative Health & Medicine’s five pillars of health and well-being: sleep, activity, purpose, nutrition and resilience.

Some of the activities include: sleep tips from leading experts; learning yoga, tai chi, and relaxation techniques; cooking demonstrations from local businesses; testing your balance, strength and coordination; and assessing life goals.

“We are excited to honor women with this event so they can focus on their complete health – mind, body and spirit and the best strategies to ensure wellness,” said Lisa Sussman, Psy.D, a licensed clinical psychologist and member of the Hackensack Meridian Health’s Integrative Medicine team, which is sponsoring the event.

Check out the second class of Women Who ROCK Hall of Fame – meet role models from your hometown who can inspire us all! Give meditation a try in the Somadome pod and channel your inner rock star in the karaoke booth. And don’t forget to grab a swag bag filled with goodies.

Emcees for the event are 94.3 The Point’s “Lou & Liz in the Morning.” Liz Jeressi is a working mom of two who talks to her listeners like they are friends. Her on-air partner Lou Russo has been a New Jersey resident for more than 30 years and considers the Jersey Shore his favorite place in the world. In addition, the NASH-FM street team will be present with lots of fun planned.
