In recognition of National Diabetes Awareness Month, the Diabetes Self-Management Program of Hackensack Meridian Health Southern Ocean Medical Center is hosting a free Diabetes Health Fair on Thursday, November 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Family Resource Center at Tilton Fitness.
The Diabetes Program is committed to improving the quality of life of those with diabetes through self-management including: nutrition therapy, exercise, blood sugar monitoring and medication.
Highlights of the event will include a host of free health screenings, interactive and informative displays, community resources, diabetes health lecture, and cook demonstration. On-the-spot free health screenings will include balance, blood sugar, blood pressure, body fat analysis, bone densitometry, hearing, total cholesterol, diabetic eye, stroke risk, hearing, foot, and sleep. Light refreshments and door prizes will be offered.
