For the 13th year in a row, MINI of Ramsey and dozens of its customers made the holidays brighter for patients of the Audrey Hepburn Children’s House, a division of the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack Meridian Health Hackensack University Medical Center.

With their vehicles fully loaded, the owners of MINI Coopers and their families recently delivered toys and other items to the Children’s House, a state-designated Regional Diagnostic Center for Child Abuse and Neglect, which has more than 7,000 patient visits annually.

Many of the toys will be distributed to patients in time for Christmas. The toys will also be given to new patients who come to the Audrey Hepburn Children’s House throughout the year.

“This is a great partnership between the community and the Children’s House and it’s one of our longest running relationships,” said Anthony D’Urso, Ph.D., section chief, supervising psychologist, Audrey Hepburn Children's House, Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center. “It’s important not only during the holiday season, but throughout the year when we utilize these gifts for our patients as they come in for medical and mental health examinations and treatment. We cannot thank MINI of Ramsey enough for the generosity they extend to the abused and neglected children we serve.”

“This annual holiday toy drive is a wonderful show of charity and kindness to our patients,” said Paulett Diah, M.D., FAAP, division director, Child Abuse and Neglect, Audrey Hepburn Children’s House, Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center. “The gifts you give come from your heart and the expression on the children's faces is unbelievable. These are normal children, but something bad happened to them and we try to normalize their lives as much as possible. And, these gifts help us tremendously.”

“It’s an honor to help make the holidays brighter for the children who are served by the Audrey Hepburn Children’s House,” said Alejandra Lagomarsino, MINI of Ramsey. “I’d like to thank our customers, who go above and beyond every year to contribute so generously to help make the difference in the life of a child.&rd
