Hackensack Meridian Health JFK Medical Center Awarded Major Grant from The Provident Bank Foundation

November 19, 2019

Hackensack Meridian Health JFK Medical Center announced it has received a Major Grant in the amount of $7,500 from The Provident Bank Foundation to support its Plainfield Health Connections program.

JFK was selected to receive the grant based on its record of success in helping participants improve their health and manage their chronic conditions through healthy eating and physical activity.  “The program’s approach to helping chronically ill minorities is effective because it takes into account the social determinants of health,” said Donna M. Meade, president, JFK Foundation. “As participants take responsibility for their health, they gain self-esteem and confidence to change their lives for the better.”

As the fundraising arm of JFK Medical Center, the JFK Foundation received the check during a presentation at the Heath and Raoul Pantaleoni Satellite Emergency Department in Plainfield where the Plainfield Health Connections program offices are located.

“The Provident Bank Foundation is honored to help further initiatives that are making a difference in the lives of residents in our local area,” said Jane Kurek, executive director, The Provident Bank Foundation. “We are pleased to support organizations that contribute to a sense of community and offer a diverse set of programs that make people healthier, happier and safer.”

The goal of the Major Grant is to support organizations that have identified an immediate need in the community and for the individuals they serve. The Provident Bank Foundation’s funding directly supports efforts to enhance the quality of life in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania communities served by Provident Bank through three Funding Priority Areas: Community Enrichment, Education, and Health, Youth & Families.
