We don’t always see evolution taking place in the people and places we pass daily. But, sometimes, change takes a big leap.
Today is one of those days. After providing care in this community for over 40 years, we’re pleased to announce a name change for Hackensack Meridian Raritan Bay Medical Center-Old Bridge, now called Hackensack Meridian Old Bridge Medical Center.
As we step into our new name, it’s a great time to take stock of other changes the center has made to serve our community with top-notch care:
State of the Art Emergency Care
Old Bridge Medical Center's emergency department has recently expanded to include 20 new, state-of-the art patient rooms and a dedicated imaging suite. Plans are underway to expand even more in February 2022, doubling the emergency department in size and offering a dedicated team for pediatric emergencies, as well as a unit specifically for children who struggle with autism.
Center for Bariatric Surgery
The Center for Bariatric Surgery was named a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Diabetes Center
Hackensack Meridian Health Medical Group Diabetes Center provides diabetes screening, comprehensive care and management, including insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor management and gestational diabetes care.
Nationally Recognized ICU Nursing
Hackensack Meridian Old Bridge Medical Center Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a recipient of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Silver Beacon Award for Excellence, which demonstrates meeting national criteria consistent with Magnet® Recognition, the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and the National Quality Healthcare Award.
Recognition for Cardiac Care
Old Bridge Medical Center was recognized with the Target Stroke Honor Roll Achievement award for cardiac care.
Pediatric Services
To better serve area families, Old Bridge Medical Center recently added Pediatric Services including a sleep center, audiology and emergency department.
3D Mammography
The Center for Women offers convenient access to advanced diagnostic testing, including 3D mammography, ultrasound, breast MRI, image-guided biopsy and bone densitometry.
The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval®
Old Bridge Medical Center earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for both Sepsis Certification and Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers.
Improving Community Care
Above everything else, Old Bridge Medical Center is always working to improve care in the community, with the recent opening of a new endoscopy suite, and the Center for Hearing for adults and children.
