Genetic Risk Testing
Deciding whether to have genetic testing is a very personal choice. Certain cancers do run in the family. Research has shown a genetic link of up to 10 percent for certain cancers – breast, ovarian, and colorectal cancers among them. As you consider this choice here is some basic information to keep in mind: this testing is painless and noninvasive we will review the results with you when they become available. You can consent immediately at your counseling session or take some time for further consideration as you will want to speak with family members who may be impacted by your choice.
Renowned Medical Library
Our medical library offers services recognized by many outside organizations for its resources, including a free and unique service for you. Specifically, the Booker Health Sciences Library provides you with answers to health questions based on research. Simply call or email the library your health question. In response, the library staff will put together a packet of scientifically-based information with references and mail it to your home, free of charge.
