Kathleen Welshman BA, RN-BC, NBC-HWC, HN-BC Integrative Nurse Health Coach
Kathy Welshman is a Registered Nurse and Integrative Nurse Health Coach with Hackensack Meridian Integrative Health & Medicine. As a health coach, Kathy partners with clients to help create transformation and sustainable lifestyle change. It is her passion to empower others to obtain their optimal level of wellness through exploring all areas of their health and well-being. Kathy believes that identifying one’s true purpose and values in life will be the motivating factor to create the desired change.
Kathy received a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Studies from Montclair State University, then later attended Ocean County College, where she received her nursing degree. Kathy is Board Certified by the American Nurse’s Credentialing Center in Psychiatric & Mental Health Nursing and has practiced for twenty years in this field. Seeking further education to learn more about integrative approaches to wellness led Kathy to study under Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona, Center for Integrative Medicine. She completed programs in Integrative Health & Lifestyle as well as Integrative Health Coaching. Kathy holds other National Board Certifications in Health and Wellness Coaching, and in Holistic Nursing, after completion of the Integrative Healing Arts Academy through the BirchTree Center for Healthcare Transformation. With a focus on self-care and resiliency practices, Kathy leads group coaching sessions with the behavioral health and addiction populations on a weekly basis, as well as individual coaching sessions. Kathy introduces new nurses to the concepts of integrative medicine during their nursing orientation, as well as presents at other community events.
Kathy has completed training programs in Mind-Body Stress Reduction and HeartMath®. She is a Reiki practitioner and practices tai-chi and qigong to keep herself centered and grounded. As a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association, Kathy’s view on health is to focus more on wellness and prevention utilizing a whole person approach of body, mind, and spirit.
