Hackensack University Medical Center Orthopedic Institute Consistently Outperforms Peers in Clinical Outcomes

Achievement in Excellent Clinical Outcomes Due to Clinical Pathway Changes and Collaboration with Physicians

Hackensack University Medical Center Orthopedic Institute placed fourth among 700+ participating hospitals in performance year one and two for highest reconciliation (or savings) earned from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) under the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) model. CJR aims to support better and more efficient care for hip and knee replacements, the most common inpatient surgery for Medicare beneficiaries. Despite the high volume of these surgeries, quality, lengths of stay and costs of care vary greatly among providers.
