Weight Management

Caring and supportive weight management

Health is more than a number on a scale. For some children and adolescents, maintaining a healthy weight can be difficult.

Healthy Futures is a weight management program to help children achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The goal is to improve overall physical and emotional health by:

  • Teaching healthy food choices
  • Discussing social pressures around food and eating
  • Addressing the emotional aspects of food and weight

At Healthy Futures, your child will be evaluated and managed by a team of specialists. They work with your child and family to develop healthy habits in a fun and supportive environment.

Our weight management program for children includes:

Two-hour sessions that meet once per week for 16 weeks

Family-centered approach

Peer-to-peer support

Behavioral therapy with a licensed clinical social worker and child life specialist

Individual and family nutrition sessions with a dietitian

Personalized exercise training with fitness instructors

Meal planning and hands-on food preparation

Evaluation and tailored exercise with physical therapists

Access to a multidisciplinary team of pediatric physicians who can address individual medical needs, if needed
