Ocean Medical Center Recognizes Those Lost to the Pandemic with Day of Remembrance

As part of a network-wide Day of Remembrance, Hackensack Meridian Ocean Medical Center invited team members, physicians and those who lost family members during the COVID-19 pandemic to pay tribute with the unveiling of the Remembrance Garden and tree planting of a Crepe Myrtle, one of New Jersey’s indigenous trees.

The celebration of life began on the front lawn of the medical center with music by cellist and internal medicine resident, Dr. Suhrim Choe as team members, wearing blue in solidarity, gathered to remember those lost and to celebrate the gift of life.

Chief Hospital Executive, Jason Kreitner and Chaplain Claire Jones offered private reflections and shared words of comfort and peace expressed by team members. The event concluded with music by St. Brendan the Navigator, Pipes and Drums from Point Pleasant.
