The Integrative Medicine Fellowship at Hackensack Meridian Health is a two-year educational program designed for clinicians seeking advanced training in evidence-informed integrative medicine and whole-person care. The fellowship is intended for physicians looking to deepen and expand their current clinical practice, as well as those interested in incorporating integrative approaches more fully into their professional work.
Through a combination of didactic learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and experiential education, fellows gain exposure to a broad range of integrative medicine principles and modalities, including lifestyle medicine, nutrition, mind-body medicine, stress management, and complementary therapeutic approaches. Fellows participate in case-based discussions, educational conferences, and collaborative learning opportunities with faculty and colleagues across disciplines.
The program incorporates the internationally recognized curriculum developed by the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at University of Arizona (AWCIM), including self-paced online coursework and immersive residential learning experiences. Fellows also have opportunities to discuss clinical cases with experienced faculty mentors and receive guidance in integrating evidence-informed approaches into patient care.
In addition, each fellow develops a scholarly or practice-based project aligned with their individual interests and career goals. Projects may focus on clinical innovation, education, research, wellness initiatives, or community health and are designed to support meaningful contribution to the growing field of integrative medicine.
By the completion of the fellowship, graduates will have developed a strong foundation in integrative medicine principles and practical strategies that can be incorporated into a wide range of clinical and healthcare settings.
