Generous Giving Prepares Future Nurses for Real-World Care

Two Hackensack Meridian Health nursing programs, at JFK University Medical Center’s Muhlenberg Harold B. & Dorothy A. Snyder School of Nursing and Middlesex College, recently marked exciting milestones with ribbon-cutting ceremonies for brand new, state-of-the-art simulation labs.

Designed to mirror real hospital environments, these cutting-edge spaces will give nursing students hands-on training to strengthen clinical skills, sharpen critical thinking and foster teamwork – vital elements in preparing the next generation of nurses to deliver the exceptional care our patients deserve.

The Middlesex College simulation lab, a partnership between Middlesex College Nursing Program and Hackensack Meridian Health, was funded through the Securing Our Children's Future Fund from the State of New Jersey, while the Snyder School’s lab was supported by a grant from the Harold B. & Dorothy A. Snyder Foundation.

“Investing in simulation as a learning tool is about more than the state-of-the-art technology, it is also about empowering the nurses of tomorrow with the resources, confidence and real-world experience they need to provide the best care possible,” says Paul Cortese, executive director of the Harold B. & Dorothy A. Snyder Foundation. “We believe deeply in the power of education to transform lives, and we’re proud to support programs that ensure nursing students are well-prepared to meet the complex needs of patients and families across our local communities.”

These new simulation labs reflect Hackensack Meridian Health’s deep commitment to advancing nursing education and supporting students as they grow into highly-skilled and compassionate nurses. To make a gift in support of nurses, visit GiveHMH.org/Nursing.
