Fast-track Hip Treatment Zeros in on High-quality Care and Efficiency
Multidisciplinary Hip Fracture Program Elevates Individualized Care
For over three years, Hackensack University Medical Center has offered patients suffering from hip fractures a seamless, well-coordinated plan for expedited assessment, treatment and discharge planning.
Through efficient pre-operative optimization and early surgical intervention, we provide the best in patient safety, quality of care and minimize the risk of complications.
The hip program consists of two patient pathways, based on the presenting signs and symptoms of the patient. The pathway for our “fast track” patient is optimization and surgery within 24 hours. For the rest of our patients, we expedite the process to treat them as soon, and as safely, as possible. The goal of our program is to deliver an individualized approach within a standardized plan of care for all of our hip fracture patients.
In 2016, Hackensack University Medical Center was the first hospital in New Jersey to receive a Gold Seal from The Joint Commission for a Hip Fracture program.
