New Hematology-Oncology Specialist Joins Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital

Dr. Camacho-Bydume brings expertise in treatment of blood cancers in children

Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health is proud to welcome pediatric hematology-oncology specialist Christine Camacho-Bydume, M.D., to the pediatric cancer program at Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Camacho-Bydume will join 15 other hematology-oncology specialists on the Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health pediatric oncology team.

Dr. Camacho-Bydume is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology-oncology. She specializes in pediatric cellular therapy and stem cell transplantation. Her research focuses on how human leukocyte antigen (HLA) proteins affect donor stem cell transplant outcomes in patients with blood cancers.

Dr. Camacho-Bydume earned her medical degree from Rutgers (UMDNJ)-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey. She completed a pediatrics residency at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in Bronx, New York, followed by a pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship in a combined program through Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) and NYPWeill Cornell Medicine in New York, New York. She completed an additional fellowship in pediatric cellular therapy and hematopoietic stem cell transplant at MSK. She then worked as an assistant attending physician on the Pediatrics General Oncology Service at MSK.
