Surgeon Will Become Board Certified in Pediatric Urology at Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health

Dr. Bilgutay the latest team member to achieve pediatric urology certification

Aylin N. Bilgutay, M.D., a pediatric urologist at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital of Jersey Shore Medical Center, is set to become the latest pediatric urologist in the Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health team to become board certified in pediatric urology. Dr. Bilgutay is already board certified in urology. She is one of six pediatric urologists with Hackensack Meridian Children's Health, and one of 3 trained in robotic surgery.

As a pediatric urology surgeon, Dr. Bilgutay specializes in addressing sensitive issues while treating the whole patient. She treats patients for prenatal/postnatal hydronephrosis, urinary tract infections, kidney stones, wetting issues, undescended testes, inguinal hernia/hydrocele, hypospadias, phimosis, and other pediatric urologic concerns.

Dr. Bilgutay received her Doctor of Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed both a general surgery internship and a urology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and completed a pediatric urology fellowship at Emory University/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

She has conducted research and published findings on a variety of pediatric urology topics, including pediatric robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery and opioid utilization after outpatient pediatric urologic surgery.
