Transformative UTI Rapid Test

Children’s Hospitals study modern test’s rapid turnaround, accuracy and utility.

In a new collaboration with a cutting-edge micro-biology start-up, Hackensack Meridian Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital and K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital are the only pediatric collaborators on a study of the laboratory’s urinary tract infection rapid (PCR based) platform that can deliver accurate testing results in 36 hours. This isin nearly half of the time a traditional urine culture and sensitivity test requires. The study aims to demonstrate the modern test’s rapid turnaround, accuracy and utility (versus traditional means) and can potentially be a transformative method for UTIs worldwide.
