Cancer Science' Series Helps Community Understand Cancer Risk

On a recent May evening, two doctors led a frank discussion about cancer risk, genetic testing, counseling and different treatment and preventative options available. For those attending the free community talk at Jersey Shore Medical Center, it was an opportunity to seek some answers to some of their most pressing questions about cancer, perhaps most importantly: How to find out if your family is at risk. The talk, part of a community education series called “Knowing Your Family’s Cancer Risk” was hosted by Memorial Sloan Kettering and Hackensack Meridian Health, a result of the partnership between the two.
