Hackensack Meridian Health, Carrier Clinic merge to improve behavioral health

Edison, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health has merged with Belle Mead, N.J.-based behavioral health provider Carrier Clinic to improve behavioral health care —  a rare partnership between a behavioral health provider and multihospital system. The merger includes plans for new addiction treatment centers in New Jersey, the state's first urgent care centers offering behavioral health care and a $25 million investment in facilities. The $25 million investment will update Carrier's Belle Mead, N.J.-based campus, including recreational rooms for patients and wings to treat specific diseases, Carrier Clinic President Donald Parker told Becker's.
