Area dentist flew around the world to raise money for Alzheimer’s disease

Dr. Edwin Galkin, a JFK Medical Center periodontist and pilot, started his third plane trip around the world to help bring awareness and raise funds for Alzheimer’s research. He is flying in honor of his brother’s memory, who died of the disease two years ago. Dr. Galkin said he set out to raise $25,000, which he has since reached.
