Risk of Breast Cancer Death Could Be Reduced by Low-Fat Diet

Women who eat a balanced low-fat diet and daily portions of vegetables, fruit, and grains have a 21 percent lower risk of dying from breast cancer, according to research that will be presented at the 2019 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 55th Annual Meeting in Chicago. Two oncology dieticians from John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center weigh in on the results of a recent study that show a low-fat diet rich in fruits, vegetables and grains can reduce the risk of dying from breast cancer.
