Maternity care: Why do NJ hospitals have so many C-sections?

Lowering C-section rates is “part of a high-priority initiative to improve maternal health throughout all network hospitals” of the Hackensack Meridian Health network, said Dr. Carol Barsky, the system’s chief quality officer and executive vice president. Further reductions — to 27.8% — were recorded in 2018, she said.
