Hackensack Meridian Health Partners with Prospect Heights Care Center, Regent Heights Care Center and West Caldwell Care Center to Enhance Long-Term and Subacute Care in New Jersey

Merger to increase access to high-quality nursing and rehabilitation care throughout New Jersey

Hackensack Meridian Health, New Jersey's largest and most comprehensive and integrated health network, is proud to announce that three nursing homes – Prospect Heights Care Center in Hackensack, Regent Care Center in Hackensack and West Caldwell Care Center in West Caldwell – have joined the network. The merger will deliver enhanced nursing and rehabilitation services throughout northern New Jersey.

The partnership between Hackensack Meridian Health and these three facilities, will provide greater access and choice to New Jersey residents for nursing home and rehabilitation facilities. Beyond improving access to care, the merger will also result in more highly coordinated, cost-effective care.

As a result of the partnership, the names of the nursing homes will now be known as:

Hackensack Meridian Health Prospect Heights Care Center

Hackensack Meridian Health West Caldwell Care Center

Hackensack Meridian Health Nursing and Rehabilitation (formerly Regent Care Center).

Hackensack Meridian Health has 17 hospitals and more than 500 patient care locations and physician offices in eight counties. The network reaches two-thirds of the state population. It includes four hospitals ranked among the top 15 in New Jersey, according to U.S. News World & Report. In addition, Hackensack Meridian Health's skilled nursing facilities provide personalized care for patients ranging from long-term nursing care, short-term rehabilitation, post-hospital discharge and post-surgical care rehabilitation, hospice care, 24-hour skilled nursing, coordination of physician services and family counseling in a comfortable, home-like setting. Hackensack Meridian Health operates world-class skilled nursing facilities, five of which have achieved the Best Nursing Home designation by U.S. News & World Report.

In total, Prospect Heights Care Center in Hackensack, Regent Care Center in Hackensack and West Caldwell Care Center in West Caldwell have approximately 600 beds and 750 employees.

The agreement follows months of due diligence where a thorough review of clinical, regulatory, service, and financial issues occurred.
