Patients at Hackensack Meridian Health to benefit from $450,000 Gift from Town Title Agency

Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation is pleased to announce a generous commitment of $450,000 from Town Title Agency, LLC, a longtime supporter and title insurance agency based in Paramus, in benefit of patients at Hackensack Meridian Health and Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health. This is Town Title’s second commitment to Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation, bringing its total contribution to more than $700,000 over the last several years. The agency’s gift will provide for diabetes clinical support, pediatric cancer research and behavioral health and addiction needs.

“For more than 10 years, Town Title Agency has been a valued and committed partner of Hackensack Meridian Health and Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health,” said Amy Glazer, executive director, Children’s Health, Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation. “The agency has held and attends events in support of our causes and has given so much to support our diabetes programs, pediatric cancer research and behavioral health and addiction programs. We are grateful for their continued partnership and incredible support.”

In the past, Town Title Agency’s giving has benefited the Inserra Diabetes Research Fund in honor of Lindsey Inserra and the Inserra family. Lindsey’s father, Larry Inserra, is chairman of Hackensack Meridian Hackensack University Medical Center Foundation. The agency’s recent commitment in honor of the Inserra family and their efforts will focus on support of Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health’s pediatric and transition programs at the Inserra Diabetes Research Institute, located at Hackensack Meridian Hackensack University Medical Center. The allocation of Town Title Agency’s support will be under the direction of Colette Knight, M.D., chair of The Inserra Family Diabetes Institute and director of the endocrinology division at Hackensack University Medical Center. Town Title Agency’s support will be transformative to many patients and their families through diabetes education, telehealth consultations to patients, better access to nutritionists to help manage disease and psychological support.

Town Title Agency is also an early supporter of Tackle Kids Cancer, a philanthropic initiative of Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation to raise critical funds for pediatric cancer research and programs at Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health Children’s Cancer Institute. Past gifts have helped Tackle Kids Cancer expand its research and clinical services, and Town Title’s recent commitment will provide further funding to Tackle Kids Cancer’s research programs at Hackensack Meridian Center for Discovery and Innovation in pediatric neuro-oncology research and immunotherapy treatments in pediatric cancer. Thanks, in part, to donors such as Town Title Agency, this program now has more than 100 clinical trials being provided to pediatric patients and new programs are currently in development for solid tumors and gene therapy.

Lastly, Town Title Agency’s support will benefit behavioral health at Hackensack Meridian Carrier Clinic, which has provided much-needed substance use disorder treatment to northern New Jersey with the development of The Retreat & Recovery At Ramapo Valley, a division of Carrier Clinic, located in Mahwah, and Blake Recovery Center, located in Belle Meade. This facility has been developed with the backing of donors Caryl and Jimmy Kourgelis, and Town Title Agency’s giving is in honor of their support. The facility is currently open and offers services for intensive outpatient programming and outpatient programming. Phase 2 of the development of The Retreat & Recovery At Ramapo Valley will include a 48-bed inpatient detox and rehabilitation facility, providing state-of-the-art addiction treatment. Town Title Agency’s recent commitment will be directed toward enhancing The Retreat & Recovery At Ramapo Valley’s inpatient facility development.

“Town Title is, and always has been, proud to support the life-saving work being done by Hackensack Meridian Health,” said Christopher Rotio, executive vice president at Town Title Agency, who is a longtime member of Hackensack University Medical Center Foundation’s Board of Trustees and a recently appointed member of the Hackensack Meridian Health Hospitals Corporation Board. “For a long time, the Town Title Agency name has been synonymous with helping people, and we are delighted to continue that tradition by renewing our commitment to the hospital. We would also like to congratulate CEO Bob Garrett for his leadership and vision throughout Hackensack Meridian Health, as well as Mark Sparta for his stewardship as president and chief hospital executive of Hackensack University Medical Center and president of the North Region at Hackensack Meridian Health, as they and their teams continue to provide exceptional care for the community.”
