Hackensack Meridian Health, New Jersey’s largest and most comprehensive health network, is proud to announce that three hospitals earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group.
“Hackensack Meridian Health is deeply focused on providing the highest quality, safest care to the patients and communities we serve,” said Robert C. Garrett, FACHE, chief executive officer of Hackensack Meridian Health. “I am so proud of our world-class team members who work tirelessly each day to ensure we are delivering superior patient outcomes. This national recognition is a credit to their steadfast commitment to always putting patients first and continuing to meet and exceed patient safety standards.”
Hackensack Meridian Health hospitals receiving an “A” rating for safety from Leapfrog include:
- Hackensack Meridian Hackensack University Medical Center
- Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center
- Hackensack Meridian Ocean University Medical Center
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually in the fall and spring.
“Earning an ‘A’ Grade means Hackensack Meridian Health hospitals made a true commitment to put patients first,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We congratulate the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement.”
