Bergen County COVID-19 Vaccination Mega Site At The Meadowlands Administers 100,000th Dose

Site operated by New Jersey’s largest health network now vaccinating as many as 4,000 people daily
Hackensack Meridian Health, the largest and most integrated health network in New Jersey, announced that the Bergen County COVID-19 Vaccination Mega Site at the Meadowlands administered its 100,000th dose on Saturday, March 20. The Mega Site reached this major milestone in less than two months after it opened on January 22. Since then, the Mega Site has significantly expanded its capacity from several hundred doses a day to 400 per hour.
“We are grateful for our strong partnership with the State of New Jersey, New Jersey State Police Office of Emergency Management and the National Guard, and the dedication of our frontline team members and volunteers who’ve made this possible,” said Robert C. Garrett, FACHE, CEO, Hackensack Meridian Health. “While we are making incredible progress, we have more work to do to accelerate vaccine distribution and end this pandemic.”
Hackensack Meridian Health began administering COVID-19 vaccines in December 2020, starting with frontline team members who heroically cared for more than 23,000 COVID-19 patients – more than any other health system in New Jersey. Between the Mega Site and its 11 vaccination sites throughout New Jersey, Hackensack Meridian Health has administered 375,000 vaccines to date.

The Bergen County Vaccination Mega Site at the Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment Complex is located at the Old Racetrack/West Gate Entrance - Lot M. The public can pre-register here to be contacted for a vaccination appointment when supply is available. Hackensack Meridian Health is continuing to work with the State of New Jersey to expand capacity as the state secures and allocates additional supply. No walks-ins will be accepted.
