Ocean University Medical Center Welcomes Patricia L. Fisher, M.D., as Chief Medical Officer

Hackensack Meridian University Medical Center is pleased to welcome Patricia (Patti) L. Fisher, M.D., MHA, as chief medical officer. She succeeds Vincent J. Vivona, D.O., J.D., FACP, FCLM, CHCQM who has retired after a successful career as physician and leader caring for patients in Ocean County for more than 40 years.

“Dr. Fisher brings a wealth of experience and leadership to Ocean University Medical Center,” said Jason Kreitner, FACHE, president and chief hospital executive. “Working in collaboration with our medical staff and team members, she will expand our quality and safety initiatives for all hospital-based services and risk management compliance.”

Dr. Fisher comes to Ocean University Medical Center from the University of Vermont Health Network (UVM) - Central Vermont Medical center where she served as chief medical officer and chief safety officer, with direct oversight of hospital risk management, operations of all hospital based services, IS services and Quality including patient safety and regulatory compliance. As a board-certified hospitalist, Dr. Fisher also served as clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Vermont, Burlington.

“As an advocate for the patient, Dr. Fisher’s vast experience in population health and community needs assessment elevates our goal to develop patient and-family centered care that will specifically address the health care needs of the entire family through collaboration, evaluation, and delivery of care,” said Kenneth N. Sable, M.D., MBA, FACEP, regional president, southern market, Hackensack Meridian Health. “We are pleased to have Dr. Fisher on board as we grow services and programs at Ocean University Medical Center.

Dr. Fisher earned her medical degree from The University of Texas in Houston and completed residency through Forbes Family Practice Residency in Pittsburgh, where she served as chief resident. She earned her Masters of Health Care Administration fromCornell University. Her professional areas of expertise include health care delivery execution, quality improvement, population health, community needs assessment and patient experience/centered care. She returns to Haiti annually to serve patients in the village of LaCroix. She is a member of the American Association of Physician Leadership and the Society for Hospital Medicine.

Dr. Fisher joined Ocean University Medical Center in August 2021.
