Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Jersey Shore University Medical Center
Program Overview
The Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center is a one-year program that provides specialized training in coronary interventions.
Jersey Shore, a part of the Hackensack Meridian Health Network, is a tertiary referral hospital that evaluates and treats a diverse and complex cardiac patient population with onsite cardiothoracic surgery. Fellows will train under expert interventional cardiologists in a collegial and collaborative environment, gaining exposure to both common and advanced procedures.
Our institution handles a high volume of interventional procedures annually (4,500 diagnostic catheterizations and 2300 PCIs/year) with excellent exposure to complex coronary artery revascularization and cardiogenic shock and mechanical circulatory support including large bore access. This hands-on experience ensures that trainees graduate with the competence and confidence necessary for independent practice as interventional cardiologists.

Our Mission
The mission of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program is to provide comprehensive training in coronary artery procedures and interventions, along with in-depth exposure to cutting-edge techniques and research. The goal of this program is to equip fellows with clinical expertise, procedural skills, and insight necessary to manage complex cardiovascular conditions. Fellows will be trained to be proficient in coronary interventions including complex/high risk disease, large bore access/mechanical circulatory support, PA sensor (CardioMems), and PFO closure. Fellows will also be given the opportunity for exposure to structural heart and peripheral vascular interventions.
