Mission Statement
The diagnostic radiology residency at Hackensack University Medical Center aims to produce competent, professional, compassionate, multifaceted radiologists ready to enter a complex medical and technological environment. Our goals and objectives align with the broader mission and vision of the HackensackMeridian School of Medicine, where residents will contribute meaningfully to health equity, patient care, and medical advancements.
Program Aims
- Clinical Competence: Residents will be trained in the accurate and efficient interpretation of radiologic examinations across all subspecialties and modalities, including body, musculoskeletal, nuclear and molecular imaging, cardiothoracic, neuroimaging, breast imaging, pediatrics, and interventional radiology.
- Patient Centered Care: Residents will deliver care with the focus on patient-specific needs and preferences.
- Progressive Autonomy: A structured approach to supervised learning and didactics with appropriately escalating responsibilities throughout the program, culminating in the ability to independently practice.
- Preparation for Certification: Program training, didactics, and other educational programs will provide residents with the necessary knowledge and skills to pass the ABR board certification Core exam with a 100% pass rate, and meet other necessary certification requirements.
- Holistic Educational Experience: The residency curriculum will provide a wide range of education experience, with emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, research, lifelong learning, leadership skills, communication and professionalism.
