Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation and its individual hospital foundations have been the grateful beneficiary of many planned gifts from our donors, ranging from wills, trusts and estates to other gift options and assets, including IRA, appreciated stock and donor advised funds.
Hackensack Meridian Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation recently received an unexpected and unrestricted generous gift of $900,000 from the estate of William Ullman, a grateful patient. By making an unrestricted gift through a charitable remainder trust, Mr. Ullman was able to not only benefit Southern Ocean Medical Center directly, but his beneficiaries were also able to receive support directly from this charitable vehicle in the form of lifetime income. It was the foresight of Mr. Ullman so many years ago that benefited the local hospital that was so near and dear to the Ullman family.
As the medical center celebrates its 50th Anniversary this fall, it is wonderful to see 21st century medical care being greatly enhanced by legacy giving. We are deeply touched by this generous display of support that will have an impact on future generations in the community.
As we approach the end of the year, a time where many consider their year-end giving, we want you to know that we are here to help. Estate planning helps you prepare for the future by providing for your loved ones and the institutions you value most. It can also be easy to do when you have the information you need at hand.
