New Jersey’s Top-Ranked Urology Department Is Using Technology to Improve Surgical Outcomes and Speed Patient Recovery
The Urology Department at Hackensack University Medical Center has always focused on improving technology to deliver better patient care. We are the first program in New Jersey — and one of the first 10 programs in the world — to adopt the single-port robot that inserts all surgical instruments through one small abdominal incision.
Over the last two years we have performed more than 400 single-port robotic surgeries, and have been able to demonstrate some significant benefits in recovery time and reduced pain from using a single incision over multi-port surgery.
