  • All training available at the Children’s Hospital
  • Day Team/Night Team scheduling on all services; longest shift is 14 hrs
  • Procedure training with Infant and Vascular Access simulators to train all required procedures
  • Mock code each block
  • Quarterly personal Wellness Days and annual group Wellness Day for each level

BLOCK SCHEDULE

The block schedule for each academic year consists of 13 4-week blocks. Each year of training consists of the following:

First Year

5 blocks - Inpatient Day Team (General and Hem/Onc)
1.5 blocks - Inpatient Night Team (in 2 week segments)
1.5 blocks - Emergency Department
1 block - Well Baby Nursery
1 block - Adolescent Medicine
1 block - Child Development
1 block - Individualized Curriculum (RS)
1 block - Vacation


Second Year

1 block - PICU Days
1.5 blocks - NICU Days
2 blocks - Night Team (Inpatient/PICU/NICU)
1.5 blocks - Emergency Department
1 block - Community Pediatrics/Advocacy
3 blocks - Required Subspecialty
2 blocks - Individualized Curriculum 
1 block - Vacation
