The ALS Center at Hackensack University Medical Center is a member of the Network of Excellence for ALS (NEALS) a group of research centers recognized for their ability to perform clinical trials in people with ALS and other motor neuron diseases.

Additionally, we collaborate with the Joan Dancy & PALS Foundation, which allows us to provide additional support, services and assistive devices needed to optimize independence in our patients’ daily lives

Meet Our Team

Your care team will consist of board-certified neurologists led by co-directors Florian P. Thomas, M.D., Ph.D. and Robert D. Connors, M.D. as well as nursing, psychology, physical therapy, sleep medicine, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, cognitive neurology, social work, nutrition, speech/language pathology, pulmonology and palliative care professionals as needed.
