About Us

Palisades Medical Center is one of 18 hospitals in the Hackensack Meridian Health Network.  Located on the Hudson River waterfront in North Bergen, NJ.   Hackensack Meridian Palisades Medical Center has and continues to meet the changing health care needs of the community.  Palisades Medical Center serves a population of more than 450,000 in Hudson and southern Bergen counties.  Its focus is providing  quality, expert care in a safe environment.  The not-for-profit medical center features a 197-bed hospital.

The HMH Palisades Medical Center campus also includes the Medical Office Building, a short walk from the hospital entrance (7650 River Road, North Bergen, NJ), a 57,000 square foot facility providing a  number of comprehensive specialty  outpatient services.  The building is home to Hackensack University Medical Center’s John Theurer Cancer Center.  The Breast Center, which provides comprehensive  imaging services and breast care for both men and women.  The sleep-wake center, where physicians, technologists, and staff have extensive training in the field of Sleep Medicine for both adults and pediatrics.  And the newest addition to the medical office building, a 7,500-square-foot outpatient adult and pediatric physical therapy and rehabilitation facility, offering state-of-the-art equipment for physical, occupational, speech and vestibular therapy.   The facility joins other services and centers located in the Medical Office Building that overlook beautiful views of the NYC skyline.   The medical office building is also home to additional outpatient services: General Bariatrics, Orthopedic and Cosmetic Surgery, Cardiology, Urology, Pulmonology, Vascular and Dermatology.

Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center has a Graduate Medical Education Program with residencies in podiatry, dermatology, family medicine, internal medicine, general surgery, gastroenterology fellowships and traditional rotating internships.

The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association recognized Palisades Medical Center with the 2022 Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke GOLD PLUS with Honor Roll and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll

The American Heart Association recognized Palisades Medical Center with the 2022 Get With The Guidelines® Heart Failure Gold Plus Achievement Award Recipient of Five-Stars for Vaginal Delivery for three years in a row (2019 to 2021)

New Jersey’s Department of Health and Senior Services awarded Palisades Medical Center a perfect 100 score for treatment of heart attack patients

Palisades Medical Center is accredited by The Joint Commission and earned the Gold Seal of Approval for Stroke and Sepsis Disease Specific Certifications

Palisades Medical Center has received Community Recognition Awards from Save Latin America, El Cambio, Rotary Club of North Hudson, West New York Leones Cubanos de Hudson Lions Club, and Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce

The American Association of Respiratory Care has recognized both Palisades Medical Center and The Harborage with Quality Respiratory Care Recognition awards. The Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Program earned National Certification by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation

The Sleep-Wake Center at Palisades Medical Center earned a five-year accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine
